Since the vision of K'Cholmim is a systematic vision of Am Yisrael, Eretz Yisrael, and Torat Yisrael, the study of Torah is essential for K'Cholmim. Many of us spend four years of higher education on purely secular subjects and yet choose to leave our understanding of the beauty and wonders of our own tradition at the level of an eighth grader. Don't sell yourself so short! The Jewish religion is a beautiful thing, and so is Torah. But to appreciate the beauty of Torah it must be presented in a serious and intellectually mature way and environment. For those of us who have never had it, take a year off to go and find what Torah and the religion of Israel is really about. For those of us who have been blessed with growing up in households where Torah was stressed more so (or think we have), take time to solidify our understandings of Torah, and do so where it is meant to be understood, in the Land of Israel. As the Sages have taught, "Ein Torah K'Torah Yisrael-There is no Torah like the Torah of Israel." We can not truly understand what it is to be a Torah community in America. A Torah community is by definition supposed to be in Israel, and such communities do exist. Go and find them, immerse yourself in them, take one measly year out of your life to study a tiny bit of the volumes and volumes of Jewish texts and tradition and introduce yourself to the world of Torat Yisrael. Israel is the Land of the Prophets, come experience Eretz Yisrael and Torat Yisrael first hand. This is the vision of K'Cholmim, and it is something that Jews are doing in the thousands every year from America. Take part in this awakening of the Jewish soul
